Spring Catering Clearance Sale

Fri, 2024-02-16 20:01

We have a large inventory of used catering equipment for sale from Government or Educational facilities as a result of kitchen refurbishments. Much of the equipment has been under a Service Agreement since new. If you are looking to buy expensive catering equipment at a fraction on the new price, you have come to the right place.

When you buy a brand new capital asset, as soon as you use it the value drops significantly. Buying used catering equipment that has already been written down in value can save significant amounts of your cash.

The market has been flooded with cheap Chinese copies of British made catering equipment such as Williams, Foster, Lincat, Parry etc. Those cheap imports can be half the price, but often don't last the guarantee period. Continual calls to get your cheap equipment repaired often ends in the equipment being scrapped when engineers fail to carry out lasting repairs. Any Chinese imported catering equipment that we find in a kitchen clearance we send straight to the scrap yard working or not !

We manage assets for several national catering brands, either finding second users in the UK or abroad by recycling their used or updated catering equipment.

Give us a call on 07391 604 110 or send an SMS to see if we have the equipment that you are looking for.

Congratulations to Sarah Page - #whoissarahpage?

Tue, 2023-06-13 01:08

Exactly #whoissarahpage? watch this video https://youtu.be/3hjpeWXTQ9o and come back to read her incredible achievement against all the odds.

Sarah set off from Winchester to run 100 miles across southern England to raise money for CCHS which is short for Congenital Central Hypoventilation Syndrome

The last big challenge Sarah did for CCHS was in May 2019 - running 106 km for the Isle of Wight ultra. Last September, she ran the 60-mile challenge for Cancer Research and got the running bug back! So, Sarah started looking for her next challenge…

Sarah's gorgeous godson, Charlie, has CCHS, and Sarah's best friend and her husband have to do so much to keep Charlie alive every day. Charlie stops breathing every night, every time he has a nap, every time he concentrates hard. His survival means being attached to a mechanical ventilator. Sarah can't do much to support them in day-to-day life, but what she can do is complete crazy challenges and raise money for the charity that supports families like theirs.

CCHS is short for Congenital Central Hypoventilation Syndrome. It’s a rare genetic condition affecting the automatic control of breathing. Breathing for most of us happens automatically - however in CCHS, the normal safeguards used by the nervous system to control breathing don’t work. Most CCHS people mainly experience symptoms when asleep, but some can also stop breathing or under-breathe when awake. The genetic mutation that causes the condition also affects digestion, heart rate, blood pressure and body temperature.

Sarah has made the target big, because this is a big challenge... She would LOVE to raise over £5,000.

06.00hrs Saturday 10th June 2023 Sarah set off from Winchester, little did she know what was in store for her during the South Downs Way 100

Sarah had assembled a dedicated support group of friends, work colleagues and runners from local clubs to act as 'pacers'. The pacers were important support during the 100 mile as was Sarah's support team.

Our Company had already sponsored Sarah, but as the day unfolded and temperatures hit 28 degrees centigrade Sarah's performance was outstanding as she made her way up to to top ten leaders. Almost 400 runners started in Winchester and Sarah was showing the professional runners what she could do to support CCHS and more importantly her best friend and son Charlie.

With 65 miles clocked up it was clear to me that Sarah's incredible performance was something that I couldn't miss, so I jumped in our EV and headed off towards Newhaven athletics club to catch up at the last support point where Sarah would get the Formula One pit stop treatment from her support team just as it turned to pitch darkness. Well-rehearsed and executed, drink, banana, shoes check, tactics support from her trainer Andy. Sarah's partner Max had just warmed up and was ready to run the last 11 miles in the dark through some tricky terrain that catches even the professional in the day light.

Sarah was in 6th place out of almost 400 starters, Sarah had been running now for 17 hours. The question we were all asking ourselves was could she finish, could she be the first female over the line?

I drove to Newhaven Athletics track which was all flood lit and prepared to accept the remaining runners as they finished the gruelling 100 mile run. 140 runners has already dropped out of the race due to the heat and distance.

All of a sudden reality kicked in, Sarah was now in 5th place and almost at the stadium. With cameras at the ready we clocked Sarah and Max running through the avenue of crowd barriers into the stadium. Family, friends and her support team joined Sarah for the last 400 metres as she crossed over the finishing line - 100 miles run non-stop in 19 hours 31 minutes 55 seconds. What an outstanding achievement.

So #whoissarahpage? a very modest organised person who puts her mind to achieving and does exactly what it says on the tin.

Well done Sarah, well done Andy, well done the Pacers, well done the Support Team and thank-you to every one who supported Sarah, gave so generously and are still giving.

If you would like to be a part of Sarah's Just Giving Fund Raising journey you can donate any amount which collectively will make a big difference to children with CCHS - Congenital Central Hypoventilation Syndrome

Service Contract - Marquee and Warehouse Heater

Wed, 2021-03-17 10:05

Many marquee heaters have laid dormant for circa 12 months and as we come out of the 2020 Coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic we are aware that our repair service department is getting a constant flow of calls to attend heaters that won't start after the Coronavirus lockdown. We have realised the many people do not have a service contract for their heaters and that many have broken down in need urgent attention as we get back into the swing of supplying heat to our customers events or warehouse working staff.

We operate a repair and servicing solution for the following heater brands, Biemmedue, Arcotherm, Master, Themomobile, Trotec, Heateasi, Ambirad, Grant, Archie Kidd and LB White. We supply brand new heaters from our own stock, we hire heaters short term to events, or long term rental from our comprehensive hire fleet based near the M25.

You can rent from us a brand new 20kW marquee heater for £1.69 per day, and PX your old heater towards the first quarter rental period. Larger heaters up to 235kW are also available on a pro-rata cost basis.

If you have a broken heater that needs maintenance or repair we can get that heater up and running for you too. Once that heater is serviced and running correctly we can offer you an annual service contract for as little as 99p per day. Our post repair and service contract give you access and a 50% discount on a replacement heater should a disaster or failure happen during your service contract. We operate 6 days a week covering our own heater hire and rental fleet in and around the M25.

Bear in mind that as from April 2022 you won't be able to buy low tax red diesel anymore as the supply of red diesel disappears, unless you operate or own a farm or a railway. There are other cheaper long term options and fuel management solutions which we are now installing for our customers. A slight modification to your heater and a bulk fuel tank linked directly to the heater means your per litre fuel costs could drop from £1.10 per litre down to 35p per litre depending on what and where you buy your fuel from.

How to Heat Hospitality Spaces during Covid-19

Sat, 2020-10-10 19:05

As a leading hands on heating provider in the UK our work takes us to many different venues great and small. Whether you want to heat a small 6m x 6m dining tent in a pub garden or a 15 person wedding at The Orangery, Holland Park during lockdown and social distance, or a 80m x 50m marquee for a international passenger and frieght airline, we have a solution. We tell you the ins and outs of heating different structures and which fuel management you can consider.

You may have read various web pages that claim to be able to match a heating solution to an event space from a nice warm sales office chair, but the reality is you need to feed off a fair amount of knowledge and experience otherwise mistakes in calculations and or wasted fuel can cost you dearly. Not to mention a disaster on the event day.

Small Marquee – Our client is a well known country pub and restaurant within the catchment area of Goodwood Race Course and Motor Racing Circuit. During the Coronavirus pandemic the hospitality sector was hit hard by closure and latterly Social Distancing. Our client moved part of their restaurant into their garden adjacent to the pub. Autumn is upon us and the temperatures are dropping to close to zero at night. There are two very nicely dressed 6m x 6m marquees adjacent to each other creating a cosy space for their customers to enjoy great beer and lovely food.

Our brief is to provide consistent heating solution for each marquee throughout a range of temperatures, in the countryside taking into consideration the tranquil position the pub is sited in a small gathering of private dwellings. We went through some options with our client and both agreed to heat each tent independently with a small indirect 19kw area heater connected to a room thermostat. It is important to not over engineer the heating solution otherwise all the heat from the warm up – cool down cycle of the heater is pushed out through inevitable small marquee wall and eaves gaps not allowing the space to rise in temperature. The pub were able to source some straw bales locally which were positioned to baffle any noise from the external indirect heaters.

Our engineers loaded out at the pub, connected the heaters up to specially manufactured low level diffusers, positioned the room thermostats in both tents, fired up the heating and carried out noise checks using our decibel monitoring device. Our small heater solution created a very low noise output of 53dB well below the audiology of normal conversation.

Each heater will run for 40 hours calling for heat, although we expect the run time of a tank of fuel to be much longer as the heater thermostat cycles the heater. Ambient temperature and opening doors will play a big part in the fuel usage. Perhaps if we get a hard winter we may have to upgrade the heaters to the next size up in order to provide a consistent warm environment.

Re-Fuelling – There are a few different fuel solutions when considering fuel cost, inconvenience, contamination, health & safety, heater performance. I will go into detail on each fuel option.

Kerosene – v – Red Diesel – Kero or paraffin as its was known in the past is a “clean burn” fuel with very few contaminates after refining. Aircraft and helicopters run on a hybrid grade of kero so it must be good heating oil. By contrast Red Diesel is full of contaminates, causes the heaters to smoke, has vegetable and chip oil (bio diesel) mixed in with it (green sustainable idea) which causes diesel bug that blocks up the heating mechanisms and created additional expense and inconvenience for the hirer. During 2019 thousands of farmers had their machinery ruined by contaminated red diesel. Luckily our fleet of event generators were not affected but our road tow bowsers were affected and the fuel supplier was out to us within hours to collect the contaminated fuel, providing a refund at the same speed leaving us with a contamination mess that cost thousands of pounds and many days of inconvenience. Our policy of filtering all delivered diesel fuels not been in place for a number of years the contamination of our fleet on event generators could have been a very different story.

Jerry Cans are a source of contamination in the fuel either from rust or water globules that have formed of will form over a period of storage time. The ground contamination from ‘glug spillages’ has to be dug up and new turf installed to restore grass.

Fuel Box supply a solution in a box, you can either buy a few 20 litre boxes or you can buy a pallet of 20 litre boxes to get a better per litre price. Storage and movement of a tonne of boxes of kerosene has its difficulties, our delivered cost per litre of fuel in a convenient portable bowser is the same cost per litre as Fuel Box prices.

Portable Fuel Bowser is a more convenient and controllable option which can either be left onsite for the client to refuel or we can attend on a predetermined day cycle to top up the heaters.

Static Bunded Kero Tank – can be a quick and convenient longer term solution for at least Autumn through to Spring. If access is easy for installation and bulk fuel deliveries we can supply the same heaters with a long term fuel feed solution whereby you only have to monitor the fuel tank level via a Bluetooth fuel tank gauge ordering 1,000 litre drops at your leisure. Health and Safety isn’t compromised and the fuel lines are reinforced hydraulic grade heavy duty pipes with a life cycle of 10 or more years.

Buy, Hire, or Rent – in these ever changing pandemic times that is a decision you have to make. If you buy the wrong solution you have to maintain it and repair it as you go. The equipment will have very little residual value as thousands of pubs and eateries in the UK are seeking the same solutions. Sometimes its best to stick to what your know best and let others provide the same.

Quotes – we can provide quotes on demand, there is an initial requirement for a site visit before we are able to give advice and quote for the best solution for your circumstances. The cost of a site visit can be found by clicking here https://www.outside-catering-hire.co.uk/viewdetail.php?recordID=3333 which we can credit back to you should you go ahead with our quote.

Medium Size Marquee our client is a Canine Aqua Splash business who has a 9m x 18m covering over an exercise pool. It is important that their clients are warm and cosy whilst their dogs exercise and or receive physio therapy in the pool. In the long term our client opted for a long term buy outright solution which will have a relatively short pay back period due to the ability to bulk buy their heating fuel.

Large Marquee - Prior to Covid-19 we were asked to quote to heat a very large marque 80m x 50m that was to hold 1,200 standing guests at a Christmas party. The marquee did not have a roof lining which caused condensation to drip onto the lovely red carpet overnight. Our client hadn’t factored in that heater would have to run overnight to eliminate condensation. Naturally the marquee had several fire exits, very large entrance doors, exit doors to outside catering arears and doors to a host of luxury trailer loos. Our brief was to quote for a solution that would keep everyone warm. The heating budget wasn’t enough to confirm all the equipment, our heating equipment was reduced by 50%. On the night of the party most of the doors were wide open, the temperature dropped to zero degrees and our client’s health a safety team had given instructions that the heater be moved from the end of the marquee to the side of the marquee an hour before guests arrived because the heater was connected to a fuel bowser.

The purpose of a high volume low heat output marquee heater is to fill the event space with warm air, create positive air pressure, and to replace lost warm air on demand. If you open all the doors and cut the heating budget the marquee will struggle to reach a comfortable temperature unless you either increase the heating equipment or go around all night closing the doors. Fortunately our site engineer anticipated extra heat would be needed and swiftly switch on a couple of smaller backup heaters to compensate.
